Cross-Check list with HubSpot records

Hi everyone,

I have a list of potential partners with their names, roles, and companies. However, I don't have the email addresses. Is there a way to do this cross-check automaticlly even not having the email? Or do I need to check each one manually?

What are you cross-checking for? Whether they already exist in HubSpot?

Hi @TVaz,

Without the email address, it won't be automatic, unfortunately.

If you're familiar with the vlookup process in a spreadsheet, you could export all of your current contacts and perform a vlookup to see what already exists, but it may not be perfect as you would have so many variables such as:

Jon vs Jonathan
Jane L. Doe vs Jane Doe
Misspellings
Etc.

Once you have identified the records that already exist in HubSpot, you can upload again and use the record ID to update the existing records vs adding new versions: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/import-and-export/import-objects

Data cleanup can be tedious, but I've found that going through the effort up-front can save a lot of headaches in the future.
