Contact with no transactions but different evolution steps

Hello everyone,

I need your assistance.

I connect companies with top business trainers to enhance their employee and management skills.

I engage with freelance trainers via cold emailing and aim to manage their journey effectively. Here’s how it typically goes: they start with a meeting, then sign up on my platform, complete their profiles to become certified, and finally, I assign them a mission.

I considered setting up a pipeline to track these stages, but there's no transaction involved. Instead, I want to automate and monitor their progress using HubSpot workflows.

This setup will trigger targeted emails and other actions based on their current stage.

What are the best practices for managing such a process?

Hi @FMorre,

Do you have Enterprise Hub? If so a custom object might work for this, though I'd probably need to know a little more about the use case before I can confirm that.

Will the customers that you are selling to also be in HubSpot? ie. their Contacts and Companies?

Yes, the company will be present in hubspot, they will be attached to transaction.

I thought about doing it through lifecyclestage ? create lifecyclestage corresponding to the different steps and then display it through a dashboard.

Hi @FMorre ,

Yes, I think you could use the Lifecycle Stage property to represent the progression of the Freelancers through this journey. What I usually do as a starting point when working with/customising Lifecycle Stages is to define each of the Stages, i.e. a Lead is someone who has filled in the Contact form at least once. Once I have defined each of the Stages I build out the workflows to automate the udpates. It's worth reviewing the Lifecycle automation that is already in place in HubSpot before doing this.

Something else to consider is that you will need to be able to distinguish between the freelancers that you work with and the end customers within HubSpot - you could use something like a Contact/Company Type property for this.
