Hi,

We have documents that get checked and we want some sort of notification to show that it has been checked and by who. Is a task the best way to show this, or do they disappear once completed?

Hi @JSamuel85,

Tasks are a good solution for what you're trying to do. They don't disappear but will remain as completed, although some filtered views will by default not display them. In any case, they remain unless deleted.

You can then create custom reports to report on the status of these tasks.

I have completed tasks, but they don't show when I look at my contact page, so if one of my colleagues was to complete a task, would only they have a view of it or could all of us see it? We need it against companies, so would the task need to be set up in that company?

@JSamuel85 are you referring to the contact or company record? When you switch to the Tasks tab, you're not seeing your previous tasks?

I am looking where you have directed(contact record) and my tasks are not showing, whereas they are if I go in to tasks directly. So if we are basing a task on a company, does the task need to be created within the company to have visibility?

@JSamuel85 if you create a task just for the company, it would only display there, correct. Without the contact associated, it wouldn't display on the contact.

I'd recommend you use a task.

If you are not seeing the task in the record

check the activity to be display here:
