Hi Community

I have a Sales Hub Professional licence.

I have a contact list that has been enrolled in a sequence by mistake a few months ago, we paused the sequence when the error was realised.

I now want to enroll that contact list into another sequence but i can't because they are still enrolled within the original error sequence.

Can I bulk unenroll all contacts from the list rather than individually which is really time consuming.

Thank you

Heather

Bulk unenrollment would require a Sales Hub Enterprise subscription and the corresponding workflow action.

To identify the fastest solution, how many contacts are we talking about?

Thanks for confirming @HSaunders. This is not going to be beautiful 😄

I hope I'm not overlooking anything but I believe we have to leverage one of the automatic unenrollment triggers. https://knowledge.hubspot.com/sequences/unenroll-from-sequence#automatic-unenrollment

The only one that seems like it can be manipulated would be the reply of a contact from the same company.

This could be "abused" by first creating a dummy company and associating one internal contact to it, someone from your team. You could then export all affected contacts and reimport them, mapping them to the dummy company during import.

You would then enroll your internal contact into a sequence and have them reply to it.

Since all contacts are now associated with the same company as your internal contact, the reply should all unenroll them.

You would wrap up by deleting the dummy company.

Let me know if that makes sense and which part I should explain in more detail.

PS. I would probably test this on 10 contacts first and only after reviewing all workflows that trigger by contact/company association.

Hey @HSaunders

I'd recommend that you un-enroll them manually in bulk

following this article.

Then you can enroll them in the new sequence.

You can always use Workflows similar as sequences

but setting up the "if they are in other wF unenroll them"feature.

The enroll- unenroll feature on sequences from WF is ony in Enterprise as Karsten mentioned. See more about this here

hope this helps

While you can only bulk unenroll using workflows with Enterprise, if you have Professional you can still unenroll more than one at a time via the Enrollment tab from the sequence:

@HSaunders If you change to 100 per page, select all, then Unenroll, you can have 400 unenrolled in just a few short clicks.

In that case, you couldn't remove all as it would stop valid enrolments. @HSaunders is it a mix or just incorrectly enrolled ones? If it's the latter, bulk unenrollment from the sequence page as suggested by @Jnix284 would work perfectly fine, correct. In that case I jumped to conclusions. If it's a mix, my recommendation still applies.

@karstenkoehler there is a lot to untangle with this one, I thought I was missing something obvious because of the workaround (pretty smart hack you came up with!)

@HSaunders mentioned pausing the sequence, which made it sound like the entire sequence was paused, not just for that list, in either case, the view can also be filtered on the left to view only those that were paused and then those could be removed rather than the full enrollees if there are more than the 400 from the list that was paused.

Changing from All enrollments to Paused will narrow the list before unenrolling

I wanted to check if there is a way to bulk unenroll contacts from a sequence directly from the contact view or a list. Sometimes we identify a group of contacts who are currently enrolled in a sequence but should be removed due to changes in targeting, ownership, or geography. At the moment, it seems we need to go into each contact individually to unenroll them, which becomes very time-consuming. Is there a way to: Bulk unenroll contacts from a sequence from a static/active list, or Bulk select contacts from the contact view and unenroll them from an active sequence? If not natively possible, are there any workarounds using workflows, sequence filters, or other methods to manage this more efficiently? Would appreciate any guidance or best practices.

Hey @PPrakash9,

Thanks for adding to this thread!

The accepted solution from @Jnix284's is still relevant to this day. You can unenroll automatically via workflows like seen here and you can manually bulk unenroll from the sequence enrollment tab, like seen here!

Additionally, @Ian_Matt provided some insight into their app within the HubSpot Marketplace. That may also be worth looking into!

I hope this helps get you on the right track!
