associate customer deals to primary company

I have shopify integration creating orders which associates orders with contacts. That is great and all. I have created a workflow that turns that order into a deal so I can track it with reporting. What I need to do it also have that deal associated with the company. Or even not at all with the record and just with the company.

Looking for advice on how to do this with a workflow.

To achieve this with a workflow, you can consider setting up a rule that triggers when a deal is created. Within this workflow, you can include steps to fetch the associated contact's company and then link the deal to that company.

Would you be able to elaborate further on this. It makes sense to me what you are saying to do. I am new to HubSpot and trying to learn what everything does still. So many variables.

I suppose I am not sure how to fetch that info and create that link.

My onboarding person was no help to me actually. I am still struggling with this to figure out how to assocaite the company to the deal with out creating a duplicated company everytime. Then it just gets messy.

Hi @MChilders6,

As far as I am aware, you cannot create associations in Workflows and that is something that you would have to custom code in Ops Hub. Perhaps there is a workaround there if you are pulling from the primary association on the contact, I am not sure.

However, I also wanted to mention that Insycle could help here. Full disclosure, I currently work for Insycle. But our association features are stellar.

We actually have a feature that will do this for you. We call it "triangular associations," which analyze existing associations to find gaps that need to be filled in.

For example, you have a contact, we will call Jacob Jones. He makes a purchase in Shopify, and the deal is created and Jacob Jones is automatically associated with the deal. He is also associated with his company. But his company is not associated with the deal. Insycle is able to detect this missing link and create it automatically — in bulk, on a set schedule, or even in Hubspot Workflows so that these associations happen immediately after a deal is created in HubSpot.
