Hello all,

using this location, as I didn't find any I would find fitting. Maybe admin can suggest a more fitting one.

I am helping a non-profit in their digital transformation, with Hubspot (CRM Starter) and Google Workspace being the two major components of the tech stack.

We are setting up our governance for the development. The small team of tech professionals who drive this initiative has experience with the agile development, devops etc. Yet it is our first experience with HubSpot per se.

Here I would like to ask the more experienced ones - how do you manage development, please? How to reasonably separate the development from production? We can have two separate instances of HubSpot. But so far I haven't found any possibility to export and import configuration (which I would normally keep in Git).

My reading of the situation is that we are left with the option to define the governance on the process level, but have no real technical means to impose it. And the developers will have to manually transfer the configuration.

Is this really it or are there any capabilities of HubSpot which are in our blind spot for now?

I will be grateful for any pointers. Have a great day y'all!

Hi @PeterJr

Keeping a seperate instance of HubSpot for development is a great first start. You might also look into using a utility like Supered to copy workflows, lists, properties, custom coded actions and more from your sandbox instance to the production instance. It has been working well for us in both this sandbox/production environment, as well as in deploying common assets across multiple portals.

I hope this is helpful!
