HubSpot <> Salesforce connector: issues + best practice questions

Hi All,

I have started to set the connection between Salesforce and HubSpot, we would like to map 2 fields between Companies and Account of salesforce.

1. Accounts <> Companies Sync: I see that I cannot change the the behavior of the creating & updating records. what happens if i just want to map 2 fields between the systems? without creating new accounts in SF if it was created in HubSpot?

2. Contacts <> Leads Sync: When we set the connector the status field in salesforce was created in HubSpot, Should we use the standard field: "Status" (Lead object in salesforce) in HubSpot? or we should keep the Lifecycle stage and set automation that everytime that lifecycle stage changes to some status, then update the salesforce status field in HubSpot and then it will be updated in salesforce? :

3. Accounts <> Companies Sync: I try to turn on the syncing between Accounts and Companies and when I'm trying to set this up the system loads but it doesn't save the changes, what could cause this to happen? :

To sync Contacts and accounts kindly refer to these two Knowledgebase: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/salesforce/sync-salesforce-accounts-to-hubspot

For the second point you have mentioned either you can create a custom field or you can map it to the standard field respectively.

@Jigar_Thakker Thank you for your reply.

1. So only if the Account is updated in Salesforce (just update one field and no matter what is the field) it will sync to HubSpot? Or if I manually choose to import the records it will sync?

2. Regarding the sync issue of Companies and Accounts I mentioned, I saw there's an issue with one field on the mapping, so maybe that is the reason it will not let me turn on the sync? It will not let me also to remove the mapping between the systems:

1. Yes whenever you update or map one field it will sync to HubSpot from Salesforce.

2. If you can hover over the issue you will find what is the error based on that you need to solve it first. As I can see in your image you have turned on the integration you just need to map the fields and solve the errors.

@Jigar_Thakker I solved the error with the "Site" field.

Now it still won't let me set the syncing, I have warning messages, warning can affect the syncing as well?:

You need to customize this property in HubSpot and add these options to your property as these dropdown options are missing.
