Industry Property Type

In the current Hubspot system, the industry property from a company object has been a DropDown and a single line text from a contact object. When I ran the automation to populate the industry from company to contact, it had duplicates and the format was not in the preferred format. Is it possible to sync industry if a contact has different industries and a company has industries and needs to populate values for contacts based on the company's industries?

Copying from contact to company is not possible, unfortunately. Single-line and multi-line text properties can be copied to single-line and multi-line text properties: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/compatible-source-and-target-properties-for-copying-property-values-in-workflows

My recommendation would be to first change the property type of the contact industry field to dropdown or multiple checkboxes, whatever applies. To do this, unfortunately you have to remove it wherever it is currently being used and also export its values before you can change the type.

After doing so, you could keep the contact and company properties in sync via workflow, not just the direction of company > contact. (If that's what you want, of course.)
