How to get a correct TOTAL amount on quotes?

Why is the TOTAL not correct?
I'm no maths-expert, but... When you pay a 1 one-time € 180 and 12 months of € 720 total should be € 8.820

Customers are totally confused by this way of quoting. How do we set these things correct? What am I doing wrong?

@AndyAerts in this resource for using HubSpot quotes, I found this:

Please note: the quote total is the total amount due at the time of payment, not the total contract value. For example, if you are billing your customer monthly, the quote total will be the monthly total amount.

This would mean, to me at least, that if you want the total you'll want to change monthly to one-time payment for the total. I think it's a HubSpot functionality hurdle you're running into.

You'll have to do as @danmoyle said or change it directly in your product item to put the total price in the recurring section instead.

Hey Dan,

i dont get the point of displaing the amount at the point of payment. I also dont undertand that the total quote amount is corretly displayed in the deal amount. Therefore the naming is incorret. If this is the amount at the moment of the first payment, it cannot be total amount, because it is not the total amount.

As an example, we have in one quote more items:

1. Item: one-time-payment for the Setup-Phase

2. Item: monthly payment for consulting. This could be 12 month

3. Item: monthly payment for additional consulting but only for 6 month and starting after 3 month of the signed quote.

In this example the total amount only shows the one-time-payment and the first monthly payment. The customer wants to see the total of his investment.

Furthermore, we connected hubspot with our payment tool, which generates the invoices and sends out the invoices automaticaly. Thats why I have to enter the correct values and also have to select the corret payment frequence in the quote.

I realy dont get the point of the current state.

Could you please forward the change request to the development department that they change it?

At least that the customer can select either option.

Hi,

Here is a workaround thta i used -

1. Eanable the Comments field. Add the text you want and add the token of "Total Contract Value". The result will be that the totalquote price will be presented

2. Unceck the Total under the line items, or change the Total field text to say "First Payment". This way you avoid the confusion, if you do want the first paymnet amount to show.

I would like to change the values but this doesn't work, because we need there the correct monthly values. As state in the beginning, hubspot is connected with our billing tool and this tool needs the correct monthly amount.

furthermore, i dont get the point that i should do something wrong by intention, because something in hubspot doesnt fit to the common understanding of total amount.
