Hello,

I am integrating HubSpot and Salesforce and should be able to test and validate data before connecting HubSpot to the Saleforce Production environment. Can I please get tips, suggestions, and recommendations in doing so?

I am looking to know any considerations around data being sync'd both ways when switching from a Salesforce Sandbox to Production connection.

After the sucessful integration of SFDC with hubspot, make the changes in the sync setting from HubSpot instance.
- Map the fields of differnt objects between hubspot and Sfdc.

Is there any gotcha's, any issues that I might stumble upon? Also, once I sync Hubspot to Production, will it automatically populate data to Salesforce or will I have control over when it will send data?

I am aware there is an 'Inclusion List'. I just want to understand if there has to be a trigger or button that needs to be activated in order to have data start populating after I connect Hubspot to Salesforce.

Hi @RSF0 ,

Contacts meeting the inclusion list criteria will be synced to the SFDC, also after doing the required sync settings all the thigs will work correctly.
You can test by creating a test contact on SFDC or HS and see the how fields are being synced here.
- For different object sync turn on this in setting.

Hi @deepikaverma ,

I did set up the integration between HubSpot and Salesforce Sandbox and configured to sync contacts/leads two-way. If the contact does not have First name, it will fill as "[not provided]" in Salesforce. I want it to show a blank rather than this phrase. Where can I set up this?

I am too late to this topic but really appreciate if anyone can help!!!

Hi @RSF0

Good thinking to validate everything in Sandbox first. that’s still the safest route. When you connect HubSpot to a Salesforce sandbox, HubSpot creates a separate sync environment with its own inclusion list and field mappings.

Nothing syncs automatically to Production until you explicitly reconnect the integration to your live Salesforce instance (full guide here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/salesforce/how-do-i-connect-my-salesforce-sandbox-to-hubspot )

When you switch from Sandbox to Production, the sync doesn’t “carry over” your test records; you’ll need to reconnect, remap fields if needed, and re-enable the inclusion list. Once enabled, any record matching that list will begin syncing automatically, there’s no “push” button, so control happens through list filters and object-level sync settings.

If your workflow later depends on mirroring data both ways (testing new fields, verifying ownership rules, etc.), Stacksync lets you stage bidirectional syncs between sandbox and production environments in real time without overwriting production data.
