HubSpot connector for Claude

Hi - I'm interested in hearing from people who are using the HubSpot connector for Claude.

I understand you need a paid subscription with Anthropic but do you also need a paid subscription with Claude? And if you're using the free version of Claude, have you found any restrictions.

I'm also interested in real-world examples of how you're using it such as problems you've been able to solve and and additional benefits.

Thanks, I've seen the knowledge article but it implies you need an Anthropic paid subscription rather than Claude, or is it both? See below

I know it's kind of confusing phrased like that, but basically, Anthropic is the company that provides and bills for Claude subscriptions. So you need an Anthropic account with a paid Claude Subscription (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise)

Hey @NKieran6 , Victor already cleared up the subscription part so I'll jump to the practical side. One thing a lot of people miss is that the connector isn't read only. You can actually create and update contacts, deals, log tasks and notes directly from the Claude chat. There's a 10 record limit per bulk action but for quick one off updates it saves a ton of clicking around in HubSpot.

Where I've found it most useful is asking Claude to pull deal summaries sorted by close date and stage, or finding contacts who engaged with a specific email but didn't convert so you can figure out what follow up makes sense. It also generates charts which is handy for quick pipeline snapshots without building a full report in HubSpot.

A few things to know going in: custom objects aren't supported yet, so if your CRM relies heavily on those you'll hit a wall. Same with unstructured data. And if your account has Sensitive Data turned on, Claude loses access to engagement data entirely (emails, calls, meetings) which limits a lot of the useful queries (https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/set-up-and-use-the-hubspot-connector-for-claude). It also respects your HubSpot user permissions, so each person only sees what they'd normally have access to.

One thing worth thinking about is that Claude's answers are only as good as the data sitting in HubSpot. If you've got other systems feeding into your CRM and the data is stale or inconsistent, the insights will be off too.

Hello @RubenBurdin , when you say "It also respects your HubSpot user permissions", does that mean that a user that has no permission of creating companies will have no permission also through Claude?

We are having some serious issues with the permissions for the connector across our org right now. I as the HubSpot admin don't have access to make certain users read-only vs manage objects on the Claude connector. The connector just uses the user's HS Permissions. What HubSpot does allow me to do though is prevent folks from making bulk updates in the CRM even if I allow them to adjust records one at a time. They say there is a limit of bulk updating only 10 records at a time, but that is very easily bypassed by ordering Claude to loop the function or batch updates in increments of 10. This is a huge risk for our data integrity and I truly can't believe more operators are not talking about this.
