Has anyone implemented the MEDICC methodology within HubSpot? I'm considering making MEDICC (Metrics, Economic Buyer, Decision Criteria, Decision Process, Identify Pain, Champion) as conditions for moving a Deal to the next stage. I like MEDDIC because it is quantifiable with a score for each stage.

Hi @JSchmitz2 ,

MEDDIC implementation in HubSpot has gotten quite a bit easier in 2025 with conditional property logic on deal stages. The approach I've seen work well is creating dedicated properties for each MEDDIC element (Metrics, Economic Buyer, Decision Criteria, etc.) and then setting them as required fields when moving deals between stages. You can use dropdown or score based properties to make this quantifiable, which sounds like exactly what you're after. HubSpot's deal pipeline settings let you configure this directly

One thing to keep in mind is that some MEDDIC elements like Champion or Economic Buyer are really about contact associations, not just deal properties. HubSpot can't natively require a contact association to move a deal forward, but you can build a workflow that checks if a contact with the right association label exists and flags the deal if not. It adds a bit of setup but helps enforce the methodolgy properly. If your team also needs this MEDDIC data flowing into your ERP or a reporting database in real time, thats where something like Stacksync can help bridge the gap between HubSpot and your other systems. Note: This response was written based on my own experience and lightly reformatted with AI for clarity.

Hope this helps get you started!

I've been able to implement the conditional logic in our Pipeline, it's working great. Thanks for the help! Is there a way to let the sales team enter additional information when they answer the MEDDIC related questions when moving Deals in the pipeline? I would love to have an open text field where they can enter the info rather than asking them to create a Note in Deal record. Any suggestions?
