We have 2 new roles. Each is responsible for finding detailed contact information (data mining). When they do, I want to track when complete their research for two reasons: 1. tell sales the info is there so they can outrech and 2. track results by role because they have goals.

Any best practices?

Hi @KReina1,

First of all, I'd recommend creating two dedicated user properties for those roles. Simply create a MDR owner and SDR owner property with the type "HubSpot user". This allows you to later build reports based on these properties. The MDR and SDR owner will self assign records using these fields - or the can be used in workflows / rotations.

The rest comes down to personal preference, you could for example ask the MDR/SDR to update a status field once they're done with research - the status change could notify the account executive (using a workflow with an internal email notification).

After everything, you'll still be able to see MDR owner, SDR owner, record owner since you're not overwriting just one field.

Best regards!
