Multi-Year Deals - 2 deals or 1?

Hi all,

We are wondering how best to deal with MYDs. We have a workflow that copies information from the closed won deal to the company once the contract start date is met, but we are running into problems when there is price escalation between year 1 and year 2 on multi-year deals.

Any advice on how best to solve this issue would be greatly appreciated! Is best practice to have one deal or two deals i.e., one deal per year.
