Hi @Fexxi

What exactly do you want to do with this information - just see it somewhere on the company record or use it for reporting, lists, etc.

You can use sync properties, but they won't really work when a company has multiple deals and you want to preserve that information

You can use CRM cards - to either show information from associated records or have a report that shows all won deals and different products

For lists and reporting there is no need to mirror that information on the company record because you can simply filter across associated objects.

Frank

PS: Workflows would work but can become tricky, e.g. what if deal/product gets changed

Hi,

we have a custom deal property called "product" with a drop down menu of 3 different products. As soon as a deal is marked as closed won, I want to be able to display that product also on company level (the associated primary company) so I can filter companies by product. In some cases, one company may have multiple won deals with different products which I would also like to be reflected.

Is there a way to achieve this with a workflow (i. e. creating a product property on company level that is automatically populated with all used products based on won deals) or is there a way to filter by Deal -> product when creating a company list? Currently, I can't select that field when creating a company list.

I'd like to be able to see a list of active customers with the respective products. Right now, I'm unable to select the associated products from deals as a filter when creating a company list. I can only display active customers (since that property sits within the company object) but can't filter by product.

Is there anything I need to do to be able to filter for the associated products? Other associated fields can be selected while filtering but not that one.

Hey @Fexxi,

This is actually something I like to do on all portals, reflecting the same Products property across Contact, Company and Deal. It gives me an indication of:

Contact = This is what the person has indicated they personally are interested in. Perhaps they've enquired on it.
Deal = This is what we've tried to sell the company. Could indicate they're a good opportunity.

Company = This is what the company has officially purchased from us.

A couple of ways you can approach it.

1 - Use a workflow

When a Deal = Closed Won, Update Record, Append Value to Product multi-select on all Associated Companies

Then you can use filters in-line, and understand at a glance what products your companies have purchased from you. This will solve the request from your first post (having that data available the company level)

2 - Use a Company list

Company filter = All Active Customer

Associated Deal filter = Products XYZ

This is a simple list, and what you asked for in your second post.

@Fexxi Can you please share a screenhot of where in the tool you are doing what exactly. Earlier yor said you have "custom deal property called "product"" - when you build any list you can change the object you are filtering on, see screenshot:

You also say - "Other associated fields can be selected while filtering but not that one.", again a screenshot would be h elpful to understand what you are talking about.
