I am hoping that someone can help please?

Before I start, I need to explain that I have based my career in sales, on asking stupid questions, and I am mopt going to stop now.

I just tried to create a new company in Hubspot.

As I have done for quite some time, I went to the website of the company in question and copied the url, which I have modified to hide their identity, but is in this format: https://www.companyname.co.uk/

Usually, when I enter this format, HubSpot populates the Company record with lots of company information, which is really helpful.

But today, HubSpot told me that https://www.companyname.co.uk/ was not a domain.

Has the world changed while I have been away for a few days, or am I mistaken?

Hi @MChanning,

Not a stupid question at all—we’ve seen this happen too. HubSpot prefers the clean domain format without the https:// or trailing slashes.

So instead of pasting the full URL, try just entering companyname.co.uk. That usually triggers the automatic enrichment and fills in the company details like before. Nothing’s changed majorly—just a formatting quirk that trips people up sometimes.

Totally fair question! This threw me off, too, after a short break. Quick check—are you pasting the full website link, including the "https://" part or anything after the slash?

If yes, try using just the core website address without the protocol or any extra paths. HubSpot's enrichment only works when you enter the plain domain name. I’ve had the same issue when I accidentally included the full URL, and it didn’t recognize it.

Trim it down and give it another go; it should pull the company info in right after. Let me know if it’s still being stubborn.
