contracts to be signed through HubSpot

Hi Team,

Can anyone advise on how to create contract templates to be signed via esignature in HubSpot.

I read an article that states :

Alternatively, they can choose to sign the contract now using HubSpot's eSignature functionality.
The signed contract as a PDF etc is stored within the deal and notifications are sent around to all signatories with a copy of the agreement and the quote.

I just spoke to a HubSpot agent that informed me that I need a 3rd Party App to do this.

Does anyone have advise on the best way to add contracts templates to HubSpot, or if I do need a 3rd party App to do this, which is recommended.

Hi @Martie, You can use HubSpot's e-signature for signing quotes but requires at least the sales starter package.

These quotes aren't quite as robust as contracts as they are associated with line items (Products) and pricing and while it can have terms and conditions, it's not quite the same as creating a custom contract for example.

In terms of 3rd party apps you can integrate with a number of tools such as PandaDocs or Docusign but I would recommend getting a trial of these and ensuring the tier you choose has the correct functionality that you will need.

Hi @Ian_Matt, thanks... any details on things that might be missing to make these "real contracts"? I just stuck our length master services agreement and statement of work into a quote template, and line items are described up top, and this table is referred to in the statements of work... Is there anything else to be aware of that might be "missing" to make this a robust contract that I might find in PandaDoc for example?

I know this post is a few years old, but just wanted to jump in here in case anyone else is facing this problem. We have an contract automation app for HubSpot called Portant with approvals and esignatures built in.

It allows you to use your Google Docs or Microsoft Word contract templates and personalise them with HubSpot data (Deals, contacts, companies, custom objects etc).

source and use any data connected to your HubSpot Deal and personalise a contract with it (custom properties and objects included).
Request signatures through a simple and clean signing portal.
save contract details and links as custom properties in HubSpot (helpful to trigger a HubSpot workflow when a contract is signed)
Also, Portant can be added as an action within a HubSpot workflow
You can also request approvals via Portant, if contracts need to be approved by legal or head of sales before sharing for signature
