Automatic assignment of companies and contacts

Hi, I am migrating data from pipedrive to hubsopt. Specifically deals. When I do this it only copies the deal and does not associate any contact or company.

The same thing happens if I only import a list of contacts, even if the form has a company name, it does not generate any association to companies. How can I automate this?

Have you checked this very detailed knowledge base article? It outlines how to setup import files, how to import associations, etc.

In a nutshell, you can import associations but your import files need to have the right data in them.

Hi @Iscrisvesu

if you are migrating manually from Pipedrive to HubSpot

you need to import associations in your files

specially when it comes to deals and companies

so company information should be part of your deal's export.

Relating to contacts and companies you can enable this automation

to create company and associate to contact coming from their @company emails

this will save you a lot of time.

The only exception to consider here is when you have contacts with generic emails like hotmail/gmail/yahoo.

You find this setup in settings>Data Management>Companies and in the setup tab.

PS: You can also take a look at 3rd party apps in the Marketplace like SyncMatter to migrate all your data without errors.

I've been there! Migrating data can be tricky. To automatically associate companies and contacts during import, you'll need to include specific fields in your import file.
