Product Pricing less than $0.01

Hello all,

Does anyone have a solution for how to handle product pricing that is less than a penny? We have several usage rates that are less than $.01 per GB and Hubspot is rounding them up to a penny or down to zero. This makes it impossible for us to use an API to import our Quote to our Billing software.

The only workaround I've found so far is to charge by the thousand (i.e. CPM) or by the million or TB. But this is not industry standard for the items in question so there is confusion when trying to explain this to the customers. Additionally, it makes it harder for our customers to compare our package with our competitors and if we're not easy to evaluate we could be leaving business on the table.

This is not yet possible but the product team is currently reviewing this request and it's on the roadmap: Accept more decimals of cent values for product price

'Hey folks - my name is Ethan and I'm the product manager for the Products and Line Items team. I just wanted to let you know that this is on our roadmap for this quarter and, while I can't give you an exact timeline for release, I would expect that sometime next quarter you will be able to add both fractional quantities in our "Quantity" field and you will have a higher decimal precision (ideally up to 4+ decimal places) in our "Price" field.'

I'd recommend upvoting the idea to keep up the pressure. You'll also get notified about updates this way.

Hi @BCSalesOps,

Unfortunately, this is not possible for now but, if you are using a custom quote template - you might use a custom property to store the price.

However, this will impact the reporting, therefore, so you have to create custom reports as well.

Hi Karsten,

We are running into the same issue - almost all of our products/services (we're in beverage manufacturing) require 3-4 decimal places. We won't be able to use any of the quoting functions in Hubspot unless this feature gets turned on. Do we have an update on when this feature will be accessible? We're in the process of onboarding currently and it's holding everything up.

This feature is currently under review by the Product Team according to idea thread here.

Here's the last update from a product manager:

"Hey team - we understand the gravity of the feature and are working as fast as we can to get it out. Currently, we're blocked by some work that needs to happen to enable this feature across all currencies, but it is being actively worked on. We did not misunderstand the need, prices are just more complex (and have more far reaching consequences), so we decided to roll out fractional quantities first to get some value out as soon as we could.

I'll keep everyone in the loop as we get closer. The good news is that we probably won't have a beta for this feature - we will just begin an automated rollout when it's ready so it gets out as soon as possible. Thanks for the feedback, as always."

Hi Kristen,

Thank you for your response. The update you mentioned was from a couple of months ago - based on the number of comments on the thread, it seems incredibly urgent for many. Multiple clients of yours are unable to use the features they are paying for until this is resolved. Are we all able to please receive an 'updated' update as of the status and the new ETA? We were previously told by Q2 and that has come and passed. It would make sense to turn this feature on and then when it comes to the final $ of the bill, to round that number to the nearest 2nd decimal point.

Fractional prices for Products and Line Items

Line Items and Products can now store very small, highly precise values in the “Unit Price” (price) field - up to six decimals of precision. Until now, product and line item prices were limited to the decimal precision of the account's currency. For example, if a Line Item or Product had a price in US dollars, that price would be limited to two decimal places (e.g. $12.42). For prices in Japanese yen, it would be limited to zero decimal places (e.g. ¥14). If a user attempted to add a higher decimal precision than what is standard for the currency, the value would round to the nearest value that is standard for the currency.
Now, customers can set unit prices that are up to six decimals in any currency (e.g. $.0025 or ¥.115), and will no longer round those values to the standard currency precision.

This update may affect the values seen in the price fields for line item and product records, as well as any related fields calculated based on the price.
