Tracking Multiple Companies’ Individual Progression Within the Same Deal

We have deals where multiple companies are essentially “bidding” on the same acquisition. Each company progresses through its own set of stages within that one deal.

Is there a way in HubSpot to track each associated company’s individual progression through the deal stages, rather than just the overall deal stage?
Can we display each company’s current stage directly on the deal record?
Is there a way to visually show each company’s progression (for example, a 6-stage process) in a format like a progress bar, so we can quickly see how far Company X, Company Y, and Company Z have each progressed within the same deal?

Essentially, we want the ability to track and visualize parallel progress for multiple companies tied to a single deal. Is there a native feature for this, or would it require customization/workarounds?

I think you can achieve this with a combination of custom properties, association labels, and customized deal record views. It does require some manual setup and maintenance.

FYI, I just created a demo on contacts but you can do the same on Deal.

🛠 Suggested Workaround:

Create a “Deal Tracker” property on the Company object
- Use a dropdown with your 6-stage process as options (labels match your deal stages).
Associate bidding companies with the deal using a custom association label — for example, Bidder.
Clone the tracker property for each active deal
- Example: For a deal called Project Alpha, create [Project Alpha] Tracker as a Company property to track that company’s specific progress for that deal.
Customize the Deal Record Overview
- Add the Company association card to show all companies labeled as Bidder.
- Display the relevant tracker property next to each bidder so you can see their current stage at a glance.

Hey there @aelrefai. I would think this is better designed as a custom object as that thread shared shows. I don't think it's something you'd do in the standard HubSpot set up, no. A custom object that you can associate to a main Deal for each of the Company records bidding on the project, and some customization of the cards, is where I'd investigate.
