How do people see the contact lifecycle stage of a leads in the sales > prospecting new feature?

I like it alot but one field I can't seem to add in the native dashboard id the related contact's lifecycle stage.

Background..not 100% confident the workflow is working to create a lead upon a contact converting to an MQL and need to check (without creatin fancy lists or reports)

Hi @DBrazil,

Under Sales > Prospecting > tab Leads, you can click Edit columns to include the 'Source lifecycle stage'.

To see the current lifecycle stage of a lead, click on its name. The right sidebar should open and in the About tab, the Lifecycle stage is included. If it's not in there, you can add it by following these steps: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/select-properties-to-show-under-the-about-section-in-a-record

However, checking inside of the prospecting tool will not tell you if MQLs were skipped. To check that, you need an overview of contacts by lifecycle stage and lead status and the prospecting tool currently does not offer that. You would have to create a custom report (Menu > Reporting > Reports > Create report > Custom report builder > data source Contacts and Leads BETA).

Alternatively, create a list that filters for contacts associated with a lead:

Then create a second list or a filtered view that includes all MQLs but excludes this list. If contacts remain, apparently some contacts are skipped. If none remain, everything is working as expected.

I don't see a way around a report or list.

So I tried Source Lifecycle Stage initially, but it didn't make sense so hence the question. Thanks to your note I revisited it, and I can see that it is pulling the internal ID. Is this a bug?

Also, the definition of this field means it is a snapshot from when the lead was created - but I'd like to see the current state of the contact.

So I guess a bug and a feature request.

The ID seems to be a bug, yes, the fact that the current lifecycle stage cannot be displayed is a request, yes: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas

As far as solving the issue at hand goes, you would create a list or report.
