Hi @Simoneponti89

There's no simple solution to this that I'm aware of:

Two contact records can't share the same email

Contact records cant have multiple timelines

Timelines can't be segmented by sales user

The closest you can get might be to create two deals, one for each sales person, and have them log their activity to only the one deal. You might also try to use custom objects, but I think this approach gets very messy and complicated quickly.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

For one of our clients we are looking for a way in the CRM to have two different records of the same contact and the same email address.

The goal is to have two different timelines for two different salesmen even if the contact is always the same.

Is there a solution?

Regards

Simone

Yes, it is not ideal, but it could be a solution from the moment there is a negotiation.

It is not clear to me one thing: how can the emails be tracked in the deal timeline?
I believe that it is automatically recorded in the main timeline of the contact based on his email.

Regards

Simone

Hi @Simoneponti89 I was thinking the same thing as @Phil_Vallender with creating 2 separate deals for each rep.

If each rep emails the contact from their corresponding deal, then the deal timeline will only show those communications.

If you look at the contact record, it will show all of them combined.

Hi @Simoneponti89

As @Jnix284 has suggested, which records the email communication get logged to can be controlled.

The default behavior of this feature is described here: Automatic activity association

For an email to a contact, created from a deal view, the default conditions will look like this...

...with only the current deal being included.

These default can be configured differently in the outlook add in, as described here: Customize your HubSpot Sales Outlook desktop add-in

Hope this helps?
