Does any one use HubSpot for non profit fund raising?

Hi, I may be on the wrong board, but I have a quesiton for a colleague who's org uses HubSpot. A few people on the team are in are in fund raising (donors, grants, etc). Does anyone use HubSpot for fund raising? I'd like to learn about what reports they have created for their dashboards?

Yes! HubSpot can absolutely be used for nonprofit fundraising, especially if you want to manage donor relationships, track grants, and report on performance all in one place.

If your team is exploring this, here are a few report ideas you could consider for your dashboards:

📊 Donations by month or quarter, filtered by donor type (individuals, companies, grants).
🔁 New vs returning donors – to monitor retention and engagement.
⏱ Average time between donations – useful for identifying when to follow up.
🎯 Grant pipeline reports – using custom deal stages to reflect each step in the process.
📥 Time from first contact to first donation – to understand how long it takes to convert interest into support.

To enhance these reports, you might create custom properties like:

Donor Type
Preferred Communication Channel
Donation Impact Area

Also, managing donations and grants as deals in separate pipelines can really help keep things organized and measurable.

Hey @BDeliman! I see non-profits using the Deal Pipelines a ton. Although non-profits aren't tracking "deals" per se, pipelines are designed to track any linear process in which step one must be completed prior to step two, etc, on its way to completion. And since the stages are customizable, pipelines can track Grant Application Accepted > Application Reviewed > Grant Awarded (or something similar) instead of the default Appointment Scheduled > Qualified to Buy > Presentation Scheduled, etc.

So really, the most popular reports I see non-profits using are deal reports!

Also, there's a new beta that allows you to rename default objects, so instead of "deal," you could call the object "grants" or whatever makes more sense for your org.

Hi @BDeliman - This is a longer answer, as fundraising with HubSpot is both possible, and there are an increasing number of partners that integrate to meet targeted online fundraising needs and processes (things like peer-to-peer, for example).

As @BérangèreL points out, definitely use the nonprofit board - it's a bit of a legacy from the days when there was a program inside HubSpot for nonprofits, but the good news is that the discounts remain, and it is still the only forum for shared knowledge specific to the industry.

That said, where we're discovering there's true potential with HS for nonprofits, is as follows:

* A much stronger replacement for Salesforce + any of the Marketing Cloud products that have generally been oversold to organizations.

* Capable of carrying fundraising cultivations (donations, grants, etc.) alongside donor engagements - especially if HS is connected to websites and social channels.

* With integrations from sources like volunteer management tools, impact/case/program management systems, also aligning constituent engagement to donor conversions.

How HS has been implemented by our observation, so far, is custom to every organization desiring to use it for fundraising. Which is literally where we began with Salesforce back in the mid-2000s - We're now actively working towards shared standards for data aligned to industry best practice for fundraising so that a community of users having similar conversations about their data can be fostered and grown.

To clarify, we are looking for a HubSpot Consultant, who has experience
setting HubSpot (one time project) to manage grants and donor
partnerships. We only need assistance using and setting up the software:
pipeline, dashboards, reporting.
