Linking Properties

Hopefully I am posting this in the right group. 🙂

Are the any experts out there that have a hack for this scenario?

We have a file being uploaded nightly into Hubspot with these
two properties. We don't have the ability to easily modify this file.

email,company_employer_id
test@test.com,ABC123

test2@test.com,ATX1234

we also have this file that has additional 3 properties that have associated company information. This file has over 400 companies and is more static.

company_employer_id,employer_name,version
HBS1309,Company One,SSN
HBS2B1425D1,Company Two,SSN

We wan't to link the company information to the contact via the company_employer_id. We would then personalize emails and utilize the company information in a workflow.

Hubspot says its not possible and this thread looks similar, but maybe there is a hack.

Hi @SethPerrett,

I think you can achieve that easily via the Search the CRM API if you have access to custom coded actions within workflows.

However if you don't, you can use this marketplace app, associ8.

This app lets you associate records and also find them based on a property value.

You could set up a workflow for your imported contacts that searches through the companies email and then makes the association. See screen grab below :
