      <title>Struggling to understand Deal revenue and Quote or Invoice revenue in a Deal record for reporting</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;To start, I need to give some background, I'm coming for a prior system, where sales would create a proposal using line items by product type in the CRM, they could assign what stage it was at in the pipeline for a forecast, if it moved forwared in the pipeline the client would Docusign it, and then it would appear as closed won. There was only one proposal it was pulling from with only one record with dollar amounts, and you could have multiple products and line items on it, which were all reportable, accurate and tied to the one account record.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For HubSpot, I'm struggling to understand how Deals and Quotes or Invoices have the same accurate, reportable information.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I set-up my pipelines and I can go in and create a deal quickly for a total dollar amount and select a single product from a dropdown I created (although I may really need to select multiple products). What I don't understand, is that if I build out my product library with product line items and dollar amounts, but we send out through an accounting integration with Hubspot a quote that includes detailed product line items with descriptions, quantities, expirations and dollar amounts.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How does that information populate in Hubspot, when I pull reports, where is it pulling from? It feels like I might have two different records of the revenue in the Deal record??&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How do I make sure if it's pulling from the Deals, the information is accurate and matching the quote we sent out?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also, how can I make sure this will all be information I can report on? I want to be able to report on product type, number of customers purchased, for a specific industry, time period, etc (report using the custom properties I'm creating)?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you in advance!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.hubspot.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/406728"&gt;@TThayne&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp;At a glance, it sounds like the information you're looking for could be created in a Custom Report acorss multiple objects/sources. I'm thinking a contact based dataset with sources from line items and deals. Essentially any datapoint you bring in through a HubSpot property is a point you can report on. So if you're bringing that info in through a billing integration, if it's pushing that data into a HubSpot property (including custom properties) you can report on it.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I've used HubSpot products (also called line items) in Quotes, which then associate to a Deal. This keeps everything aligned in HubSpot and makes it relatively quick to report on the revenue.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
