Hello Everyone,

I'm working to configure the Salesforce integration, and am hoping for some insight into a use case.

We want to be able to sync Contacts, Companies and Deals. With the way that our data is set up, a contact can be associated with multiple companies. Our "companies" are school districts and individual schools, so we commonly have, for example, a principal who is associated with both their school and the parent district.

In my testing, only the contact's Primary company is syncing to Salesforce. Is there a way to ensure that all associated companies for a contact are synced?

Please let me know if that's not the case.

At this time, the HubSpot Salesforce integration supports syncing only the Primary company association for contacts.

I'd love to put you in touch with our Top Experts and Community Members: Hi @TomM2, @Sawyer_Klein and @patrick_adams can you think of a workaround to help @FourFold_Sltns, please?

Thanks so much and have a wonderful weekend!
Bérangère

Hi @FourFold_Sltns ,

You've hit one of the more frustrating limitations of the native HubSpot Salesforce integration. As Bérangère mentioned, it only syncs the primary company association, and theres no native setting to change that behavior. For your school district use case where contacts legitimately belong to multiple organizations, this is a real problem.

A few workaround options depending on your technical comfort level:

One approach is to use a custom field on the contact in both systems to store secondary company IDs or names as text, then use workflows or automation to keep that field updated. Its not elegant and doesnt create true associations in Salesforce, but it at least gets the data across for reporting purposes.

Another option is to handle this through an intermediate database.

You sync HubSpot contacts and all their company associations to a database, then push that data to Salesforce with the proper Account Contact Relationships (Salesforce supports multiple account associations natively through their Account Contact Relation object). This preserves the many to many structure properly.

Thats actually where something like Stacksync can help. It handles complex record associations across systems and maintains the relationships bidirectionally. You could sync all your HubSpot company associations to a database and then map them correctly into Salesforce's data model without losing the multi company structure. Transparency note: This response is grounded in my own experience and was lightly polished using AI.

Happy to share more details on how that architecture would work if its helpful.
