Syncing ActiveCampaign Email Engagement Data to HubSpot CRM

Using HubSpot and ActiveCampaign, can we sync email engagement data (like opens and clicks) to the HubSpot CRM via integration, or is purchasing a Marketing Hub subscription necessary for that visibility?

Hi All,

We are using Sales Hub Professional and ActiveCampgaign for email marketing automations. I would like to know if we need to purchase Marketing Hub (Starter or Pro) to see email opens in HubSpot CRM if we’re using ActiveCampaign. Or can we instead integrate ActiveCampaign with HubSpot to sync email engagement data (like opens and clicks) into HubSpot CRM. This way, to track engagement without switching email platforms.

Great question, thanks for asking the HubSpot Community!

I see that you are looking at email engagement data.
For information, in HubSpot, you can use HubSpot’s email analytics - Review and analyze your marketing emails to visualize your customers as they move through your marketing and sales motions.

Now, regarding your question of having Activecampaign email engagement data sync into HubSpot, when I look at this documentation "Hubspot ActiveCampaign Integration", I can see that the following properties are available for sync in terms of email engagement: "Is Hard Bounced?", "Is Soft Bounced?" and "Bounced Date".

You could create custom properties for contacts with email engagement data so that you can sync them over to HubSpot, would that help?

Also, on this thread "On pushing engagement emails to contacts via the API" I can see that you could use an API call (Email analytics API Developer Documentation) for that.

I don't think that the native integration offered by HubSpot and ActiveCampaign syncs email engagement; it only syncs contacts between the apps.

You'd either need a custom API integration or a 3rd party integration app like Zapier or Outfunnel to sync email opens and clicks to HubSpot. I may be biased, but the HubSpot-ActiveCampaign integration that we at Outfunnel offer is probably the easiest way to sync email sends, opens, clicks, bounces, and unsubscribes from AC to HubSpot.
