Can't create comparison chart

Hi all,

I am having some problems creating a comparison chart. I want to create a chart that shows tickets closed today compared with tickets closed yesterday, not as a stacked bar chart, but as two different bars per person. I can't get past a single bar chart at present:

I can only work out how to show today or yesterday, but not both side by side.

Hi @DNeal32,

Time period comparisons are only available in reports using one dimension, both in the single object report builder and the custom report builder. In other words, you cannot have both a breakdown by ticket owner and a comparison between today/yesterday. You can only have one.

The easiest way to fix this would be to create one report for today, one for yesterday, displaying the count of tickets by close date by ticket owner – then place them side by side on a dashboard for easy review and comparison.

This will generate a bar chart comparing the number of tickets closed today with those closed yesterday, showing two bars per person.

Go to Reports > Create report in HubSpot.
Select Custom Report Builder.
Choose Tickets as the data source.
Add "Closed Date" filter for "Today" and "Yesterday".
Set "Ticket Owner" on the X-Axis and "Count of Tickets" on the Y-Axis.
Add a comparison series for "Tickets Closed Yesterday".
Choose "Bar Chart" (not stacked) for the display type.
Save or Create Report to finalize your chart.

Hi Surbhi,

Thank-you. With your instructions, I got pretty much to the same point. It's the "Break down by" that is stumping me, I can't make it just show "Yesterday" and "Today". It wants to break it down by everything but!

Is that what you get? Do you know how to get around that and make it show a Today and Yesterday label please?

@DNeal32 I presume the instructions are incorrect – as I wrote in my previous reply, this can currently not be done in HubSpot, see the error messages and request to the product team.

Hi Karsten,

Not quite, it works, it just isn't labelling it very nicely. It's the "break down by" that is a pain, because I've had to do it by day of the year, so the legend shows 235 & 236, which are yesterday and today.

The below pairs of lines are tickets closed on yesterday and today, by ticket owner.
