When creating a custom report using deals, I want to see campaign attribution. Does the report look at all contacts associated with the company in HS and develop the report based on all their attribution?

Or does it associated a single contact to each deal and only use their attribution? If so, how does it determine which contact to associate to the deal?

Hey @GHunt5 just to confirm, are you creating a report to display deals which can be attributed to a specific campaign in HubSpot?

If so, then this would display based on deals created from your campaign. So if you have a contact who converted through a landing page that was associated with your campaign, and then a new deal was created for that contact that deal would be attributed to that campaign.

If you also create new deals via a workflow that's associated with that campaign, it will be attributed to that campaign there.

There's two helpful guides which have a good bit more info on the knowledgebase here:

Deal create attribution reports can help you understand which marketing efforts result in the most new deals (Marketing Hub Enterprise only).

Deal create (Marketing Hub Enterprise only): the number of new deals attributed to this campaign.

@GHunt5 what are you looking to report on as the attribution factor? I assumed when you said campaigns you meant HubSpot campaigns, is this the case or is there another object/asset you're looking to attribute?

If the deals are all coming from Salesforce it wouldn't be possible to attribute them to a campaign within HubSpot.

Yes Hubspot campaigns. I would like to see a report that shows the
campaign across horizontal axis deals in 2 specific stages in the vertical
axis. Bar graph

Actually I just found a better article, it does look like it just takes the contact association to the deal as the attribution. So if you deal is created from SFDC, but is associated with a contact who is associated with the campaign that deal create should be attributed to the campaign.

More info on that here:

Deal create: measure how effective the campaign’s assets are at generating new deals. When a contact interacts with a campaign asset and a deal is created and associated with the contact, the interaction will be attributed for the deal being created.
