Best way to track TOTAL HubSpot video views

Hi there!

We are using HubSpot video to host all of the videos across our website and blog. Videos are easy to upload and manage, but it feels like the reporting we have access to is really limited.

For now, we're really hoping to get information on:

- Video views

- Video view duration

Within HubSpot reporting, we can only see this data for known contacts. I am hoping to get a total view count (similar to how you could see a total blog pageview count).

With other video platforms, such as YouTube, it was easy to set up event tracking in GA.

Does anyone know the best way to do this with HubSpot video?

@JohnJulien I think it's available in the reporting tool, it's only available in the custom report builder as "media" and you'd have to choose media as the primary data source so it's not tied to any contacts.

I also found this info in a KB article that may help. It looks like you should be able to see total views on your videos in anayltics.

Video views in page performance

Navigate to your content:
- Website Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Website Pages.
- Landing Pages: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Landing Pages.
- Blog: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing > Website > Blog.
- Knowledge Base: In your HubSpot account, navigate to Service > Knowledge Base.

Click the name of a post, page, or article to view its Performance details.
If there's more than one HubSpot video on the page, in the upper left, click the Video dropdown menu and select a video.

Analyze your video plays:
- Video views: the number of times your video loaded on your page in a visitor's browser.
- Video retention: a measure of which parts of your video content were played.

When I spoke with HubSpot support about a month ago, they confirmed that reports (even just for media views) will only include views for known contacts.

While that's a useful metric, we really want to get a report of full video views.
