Sync HubSpot drop down menu field to a Salesforce text field

I'm trying to figure out a way to sync a drop down field in HubSpot to a text field in Salesforce. Is this possible at all? I can not change the field in Salesforce to a drop down field.

As far as I know, this is not possible, no. The property type must match, as shown in the table in this article: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/salesforce/map-hubspot-properties-to-salesforce-fields#add-a-new-field-mapping

The reason is that a change to the single-line text field in Salesforce could not always be reflected in HubSpot, even if the sync is one-way.

If you want to still sync this, you could use a HubSpot workflow to copy the value from the dropdown field into a text field in HubSpot, then sync the text field. Keep in mind however that keeping the dropdown and text field in sync is not possible. (For the same reason a dropdown cannot be mapped to a single-line text field.) This would be one way from HubSpot only.

Hi @skblase,

Dropdown in HubSpot is not compatible to match to a text field in Salesforce.

You can map/sync a HubSpot "Dropdown" field to a Salesforce "Picklist" property type. Just be sure that the same options are set on both sides.

Is there an idea or something we could upvote to enable single text fields to be a dropdown option for HS forms and such? I'm in the middle of a migration from. Pardot/Account Engagement and we were able to show a dropdown list of options within forms despite the fact that we are syncing to a text field (both in the platform and from Salesforce).

I understand the workaround that the workflow presents, but seems like a better option would be to allow single-text fields to still have dropdown capabilities.
