Contact Not Being Created in HubSpot via Salesforce Integration, but Associated Objects Created

Hello,

I am looking to understand some reasons why a Salesforce Contact record would not sync to HubSpot and if there is a way to force a sync between the two systems so the HubSpot record gets created.

The issue I am running into is a Contact record in Salesforce is associated with a Custom Object; this custom object is also in HubSpot. The Custom Object for a person is being created in HubSpot, as well as the Deal. But the actual Contact record is not being created in HubSpot.

When I check sync errors, the person does not show up anywhere either.

Any insight here would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

@DSaucier Is the Contact on the inclusion list? Does the HubSpot integration user have visibility in Salesforce to this Contact record?

My recommendation, when you're having association issues, is to do a bulk reimport of Salesforce records. This brings everything up to date and pulls in any available associations that are missing.

You can do this by going to Contacts > Import > Import from Apps > Salesforce > Import Everything.

The person in question is not on the SF inclusion list because the Contact record does not exist in Hubspot. We have the setting where "when SF record is created/updated it is created/updated in Hubspot" but I am identifying records that fell through the cracks whiile their custom objects (deals/Team Members) synced.

Once they're in Hubspot, I can make sure they are on the inclusion list.

As for the whole sync, would you recommend just doing Contact Records, or the custom object? Or both? I am wondering if I just do Contact records if it would automatically associate it with already created Team Member. Any insight?

Hi @DSaucier

If I'm getting this right, your contact is not stored in the SFDC Custom Object, but is instead being referenced from the lead/contact object.

Once you have set up a custom object sync, you must define the associations. Have you enabled the "Sync contact association"?

The Custom Object in Salesforce is a related-object to the Contact that can have a 1-to-many relationship. The associations are defined and setup. The issue is the Contact record that is associated with the Custom Object is not syncing at all to Hubspot; the Custom Object for the person exists and gets synced, but the Contact object does not. So the Custom Object in Hubspot exists without the relationship/association to the Contact.

I'd recommend reimporting Contacts & the Custom Object. This will refresh any associations that haven't pulled in. For your inclusion list, I'd recommend updating it to include any records where the Salesforce ID is known or source is Salesforce.
