Zoom webinar integration workflow add contact to zoom or webhook action?

There is some confusion between what you are supposed to do to set up a workflow integration with Hubspot and Zoom to schedule a webinar. There are 2 instructions I've seen one from Hubspot and the other from Zoom. The one on Hubspot says to use "Add contact to zoom webinar" action in the workflow and the Zoom instructions say to use "trigger a webhook" action. The trigger a webhook action does not work in my instance. But what is the difference between the 2 actions? Also, if you want to run the invite email, landing page, thank you page, confirmation email through Hubspot instead of Zoom is there a unique identifier used so you know who actually attended the webinar and not just registered?

HubSpot article looks accurate. Zoom article may need updating.

I did some testing. They both do the same thing. The way HubSpot mentions it populates a link but it is not a unique join link. The way Zoom references it populates a link that is unique per individual.

But how can you share a calendar invite that would automatically populate this unique join link within it if you want to send confirmation emails via HubSpot after someone registers for a webinar?

Thanks for contacting Zoom Support!

The two articles references in your link are disctinctly different integrations and only one article should be referenced when integrating zoom with hubspot. The zoom article referenced in this article:https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/215930143?flash_digest=549e8ce3c40be6b49ed3e04c05ecf8b3141d8da5 is for the legacy integration between zoom and hubspot. While this method will still work, Zoom and Hubspot can be integrated much easier using the Hubspot-Zoom app: https://marketplace.zoom.us/apps/o8JuTnfNQ3mS5URt2qjp1Q .

If users are using the Zoom app within hubspot (https://knowledge.hubspot.com/articles/kcs_article/integrations/use-hubspots-integration-with-zoom), please have them use the "add zoom contact method". If users are using the legacy integration: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/215930143?flash_digest=549e8ce3c40be6b49ed3e04c05ecf8b3141d8da5, please have them use a webhook.

Checking back in on this topic. Has this changed at all in 2020? Is the integration between Zoom and HS more atune to the integration between GTW and HS?

Also curious about this. Mainly the fact of sending the confirmation email from HS and not Zoom since there are a bit more lay-out options in HS. Zoom is pretty plain.

Has anyone found success using the "add zoom contact method" in the workflow? I am not able to populate zoom registration on the Hubspot form to the Zoom Webinar portal.

I am currently having an issue with this integration. Similar to @JHegde the Add Zoom Contact method doesn't work - with hyphens, or spaces, or no spaces in the webinar ID.

I figured out where to find the error logs. Turns out you can't register for a webinar with the host email, so you need to find another address to use for testing workflows. 🙂

Hi @JBorgeson yes, correct! I would always test with a freemail address. Also one important thing if you test with an email address that is also a HubSpot user, they will not be created as a contact or show up in a list where you use the Zoom filters. Users in the account will not be created as contact records in HubSpot if they register for a Zoom webinar. If they have already been created as a contact record, Zoom activity will not be synced to their contact records.
