Send emails throug api without the transactional email add-on

In short my question is quite simple: I want to know if it is possible to send emails through the hubspot api without the transactional email add-on. I know that you can create marketing emails, but that does not seems to send them. I also know that you can you can send emails through the ui but I need to use the api.

You are right that currently you cannot send a marketing email through the API only a transactional email. As an alternative you could look to send the contacts to a workflow that sends the marketing email out ( https://legacydocs.hubspot.com/docs/methods/workflows/add_contact ).

Thank you for your quick answer. Are workflows a free feature inside or do I need a subscribtion for that also?

Most of the things the API connect to requrie a paid subscription to hubspot. For workflows you need have either a pro or enterprise plan with marketing/sales hub. I would ask your system admin for full details about your plan.
