New form submition overwrites the last one

Hey everyone!

I am new to HubSpot and would need some help.

I have connected my website (WP) and its lead gen form with HubSpot with the HubSpot WordPress plug-in.

I can get it to import the lead and information but it only stores one contact. So when a new lead is submitted, it overwrites the last one. Meaning I only have the latest lead stored...

Anyone have had this problem before and can help me solve it?

Hi @herta,

Could you please confirm if you're using a native Hubspot form or the WP one? And also, would you be able to provide a link to the page, or a screenshot of how the submissions are coming in?

If you're using a native form, there's a way to make sure that each submission with a different email address creates a new contact. If it's the WP form, you need to see how the collected fields are mapped and how the information is coming into the system.

Hi @herta,

Are you using a HubSpot form or a non-HubSpot form? For HubSpot forms, in the Options tab of the forms editor, there is a setting 'Always create new contact...'. When enabled, HubSpot will create a new contact for each email address – as opposed to merging submissions when provided within the same browser.

I am using an Elementor Pro form to create the form (WP one).

I do not fully understand what kind of screenshot you need. A screenshot of the form itself?

So probably it has to do with the mapping of the form and hubspot together, is there any option to chose "create new contact" or similar?

I will have to re-do all this again to check if I can get it to work.

@herta are you testing the form submission yourself? If yes, it's likelyt overwriting the same contact because you're on the same IP address. Test it in an incognito window and see if that helps. Your WordPress form should still create new contacts with each form fill, not overwrite the same contact record over and over.
