I see my Contact & Company properties available when creating a new form.

How do I access Deal properties?

...I'lll need to add all the Form's Deal schema to the Contact object if I want to use Hubspot forms to gather data for a Deal? This seems a little excessive 🤔

Hi @MisterKennedy,

Deal properties are not available in HubSpot forms. Other users have requested this before but as of 2021, the product team is not planning on working on this: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Use-Deal-Properties-in-Forms/idi-p/208361

Still, I'd recommend upvoting and commenting on the thread. The product team reviews these requests based on their popularity. This will also keep you updated.

As far as the thread goes that you linked: Yes, that would create a deal from a form submission. It would take information from a form submission and use it for creating a deal. However, it would not behave like a deal property on a form; it would not update an existing matching deal. It would always create a new one.

If you want to go that route, you need to make sure that you have all fields needed for deal creation set up on the contact or company object. I wouldn't consider it excessive, especially once you get the hang of it.

Thank you Karsten. We were hoping to get rid of Asana and use HubSpot for our deal/matter intake process. It is quite surprising that the forms are limited to Contacts and Companies. Will continue to see if we get enough upvotes for HubSpot to consider changing this.

I have done the workaound for a dozen of my forms. However, I have now run into a big problem having to use Contact properties. I often have repeat customers filling out a form, which creates new deals as it should. However, becasue they are Contact Properties first (then copied to deal properties via workflow), when a customer submits a new form with different answers to the questions (in my case they are product requests), it won't just populate that new deal with that associated form - it wants to pull the previous data from the last form filled out because it is embeded in their CONTACT info... this is a big problem for us and I need a solution.

@karstenkoehler I'd like to echo @DDoss3's comment. We have a situation where one contact could have multiple deals simultaneously. If the contact fills out the form multiple times, the information will only be accurate on one deal. Do you have any workarounds for this instance? The best-case scenario would be for HubSpot's devs to implement deal properties into forms. Still, I'm stuck on how to ensure the correct information is copied from the contact to an associated deal.

Just adding my upvote to this. Seems so obvious that we want to be able to enrich our deals with data from e.g. a customer faced HubSpot form.

Please add deal properties to forms. Now i have to work around it with workflows. I don't like the fact i have to work around it and map contact properties to deal properties. It's an absolute necessity.

🔴If you guys want to know how i worked around this obstacle:

Create contact properties that are the same on the deal level. When creating a deal creation workflow, do the followign: Create record, fill the deal property with the filled in contact property in ur used form. after the create record step, remove/clear all contactproperties you have used in the form.

Thats the way to work around it 🙂

This is absolutely ridiculous. How can a CRM not allow you to collect deal properties in submission forms. This is a must have.
