Hello,

There is a very easy way to track Ad conversion in the Hubspot platform, but I have not been able to find a good way to track whether someone signs up from a Marketing Email (not workflow) that is sent. Am I missing something here? How can I see if someone clicked on a Makreting Email and then signed up for our platform?

Thank you!

Hi @Anicklow,

This information is available, probably just in a place where you're not looking for it: the very very bottom of the landing page that hosts the sign-up form, see Analyze performance for individual pages and blog posts. There you can views, submissions etc. by source (Organic search, Direct traffic etc.).

Below the data visualization chart of a landing page is a table showing the performance data for each source. Clear the checkbox next to a source to remove it from the chart. Click a source in the table to drill down into specific source data.

When you click for example on the Email marketing source category, HubSpot will drill in and you can check how many submissions a specific email has driven so far.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

Thank you Karsten! My website is a subscription based model and we consider a conversion someone who signs up for our platform. We have a few hubspot forms embedded that are gathering contacts and I do see the "conversion pages" reporto that you are describing, however, that is not what I am trying to see.

I want to see when I send out a newsletter email each month to marketing leads... how many contacts convert to paying customers from that email (with a CTA that leads them to our signup page).

Thank you.

Hi @Anicklow,

That makes sense, thanks for the added context. This is not something that HubSpot offers out of the box but which can be achieved with custom reports. Those are available in the Professional and Enterprise versions of HubSpot – which subscription level are you on?

For a report, you would create an active list of contacts who have received your monthly email and display the number of contacts by the contact property that stores the sign-up information. Let me know if you need assistance in building this report. If the sign-up is equivalent to a lifecycle stage, you could filter one of the lifecycle stage funnel reports

Best regards!

Okay that makes sense. I do have access to Custom Reports, but I am new to the tool so I might need assistance in setting that one up. The way you described it makes sense though and I will give it a go to see if I can create a custom report for the one-off emails that we send out.

Thank you!

We have a contact property that is "Active Account" is any of Yes. Also we have our own Lifecycle Stages in the form on contact properties and one of those is "Customer" which takes any paying member. The action itself onsite is not a contact property in hubspot. We don't have any kind of "completed registration" or anything like that right now.

Following this thread - seems there is general confusion over tracking conversions. As I understand it, conversions are form submissions. If we are looking to track other “sales” like OP is speaking of, would submitting sales as deals be a better suited tool?

We are struggling also to understand how to track performance in an e-commerce setting for email efforts. Do we create deals? Events? Form submissions?

Hey Karsten, this is somehow related to my concern so I am adding a response here. How do I track that the lead conversion was actually from specific (PAST) email? The email is added as an asset to a marketing campaign without tracking urls embeded on the email
