If I don't use the hubspot form, but submit it through the API, how will I be able to track the original source of that contact?

I have seen some workarounds in order to not track specific non hubspot forms, but is there a way to add code to a form to specifcally track it with with the non-hubspot form tracking turned off?

We loaded the tracking script to our entire website including portal, via GTM. There are several forms that we would not like to track that are overwriting data in Hubspot. It would be easier to only track specific forms than to add code to all the forms we would like to track, and I was wondering if that was an option with coding.

There's already a question similar to your requirement in the HubSpot Community. https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Lead-Capture-Tools/Ignore-a-specific-non-Hubspot-form-from-being-collected/m-p/431437#M5735

You can check if it works for you !

Thank you for your response. I have looked through that suggested solution and was looking if there is a way to do the opposite essentially. We have a larger website with many forms, so it would be easier to add code to the forms we would like to track specifically than to add code to all the forms we don't.

Hi @NCondon22,

In that case it might be easier to work with the HubSpot API forms endpoint to submit specific forms (as opposed to all forms being recognized automatically). https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api/marketing/forms

Alternatively, have you considered disabling non-HubSpot forms altogether and replacing the few forms that should be collected with HubSpot forms? https://knowledge.hubspot.com/forms/use-non-hubspot-forms

Best regards!

We will use the Forms API to submit the details; however, I was wondering how do you get the UTMs into HubSpot? When not using the HubSpot tracking, how did you solve this problem? Many thanks in advance!
