Hubspot Sales Extension: We no longer want to automatically save contacts/log threads in our Hubspot

Hey there,

we have been using the Hubspot Sales Extension for some time now to log and save contacts to Hubspot. We only selectively do so, and therefore have changed the settings in the extension to only log/track existing contacts. This was working fine for some time but now all incoming conversations are saved in Hubspot, despite the above-mentioned settings.

In Hubspot, the contact is then labeled with

'This contact was created from Offline Sources from Conversations'. We have tested this with other email addresses and get the same every time, even though the contacts are clearly not in our database before.

What can we do here?

@relokate are you using the chat feature from HubSpot? When you chat or email from the Conversations Inbox, it will create Contacts. That's the only thing I can think of.

Hey Dan,

no we are not using that. I now turnt off the extension and removed it from Chrome and continues uploading contacts

Do you know if any of your users connected their email to Inbox? That conversations inbox is supposed to be only for group emails like Support or Help, but sometimes users will connect their personal email address to it without realizing it. If they did, then it could be creating contact records.
