Send specific files based on selected options

Hi all,

I have a form that has a checkbox with multiple options.

I want the user to get an email with a brochure based on whatever option is chosen.

For example user select options a b and d, he should get a follow up email that contains file on the options selected.

Is this possible with hubspot?

Hi @OKolawole,

Yes, this is possible but requires a specific HubSpot subscription, namely Marketing Hub Professional. This subscription includes workflows which lets you automate customer journeys such as the one you're describing.

Your contact-based workflow would be triggered by form submission. Using an if/then branch, you could then check which property value was selected in the form. In each branch, you can send a different automated email.

In the free CRM or in the Starter subscriptions, this is not possible.

Thanks for your response.

My hubspot is Marketing Hub Enterprise. The check box options I have are 5 and I want to be able to send corresponding brochure of any of the services picked from the options.

I want only the corresponding brochures of the selected services to be sent.

Thats what I am referring to.

Your workflow would look something like this, only with 5 options instead of 2.

Thanks for this response. This makes more sense to me now.

But it seems it will send separate emails for each option selected, or can a single email be triggered with the selected options files?

Hi @OKolawole,

In my opinion it's easiest to clone the email and create 5 variations of it.

Alternatively you could use smart content within one email, displaying a different link based on the selection. In this case, you'd have to create 5 lists for the smart rules.

Either way, you'll have to create 5 of something haha.

For this type of situation, I prefer using Smart CTAs, where I can create 1 CTA with 5 smart versions, the default would be the default brochure and then the 5 variations would be based on list membership.

You already need at least one list to send the email, so it's easy enough to set one up for the first option and then clone it for each of the options.

From there you make one Smart CTA and one email, drop the CTA in the email, send it to the 5 lists and done.
