Lifecycle stage not being update after resubmitting a form

Hi community!

Could anyone help me with the following issue please?

I set on a record the lifecycle stage from MQL to Subscriber, and then submit the same form again.
The form has a hidden field which set the lifecyle stage to MQL. However, It seems not to override the record after submission. which means it continues as a subscriber when it should be updated to MQL.

Hi @PedroLima

I'm wondering if you have the 'Pre-populate contact fields with known values' option selected under form options? This may be causing the hidden field to populate the lifecycle stage value from the contact record rather than your preselected lifecycle stage value of MQL. Try turning that option off and see if it works.

If you still want to prepopulate form fields then you could set your lifecycle stage using a workflow instead of a hidden field.

Thanks Matthew that is the reason for that issue. However, I will now have to think how to change the lifecycle stage with the option selected. Do you think a workflow would do that?

Hi @PedroLima

If you remove the hidden lifecycle stage field from your form you can then create a workflow that triggers when your specific form(s) is/are submitted (make sure to allow re-enrolment unless you have a reason not to.)

If you need to roll the lifecycle stage backwards (which isn't recommended) you need to have the workflow clear the lifecycle stage value first. This workflow should look something like this.
