Create a list with contacts who filled out a form on a CTA slide-in

I have a CTA slide-in with a subscription form on it. The form is featured on several web pages as well as the CTA. When I look at the "form submissions" tab on the CTA details page it shows me which people filled out the form on the CTA, but there is not option to create a list out of those people. In the list tool I can create a list of people that filled out the form generally or on a specific page, but I don't see anyway to select people who filled out the form on the CTA.

I want to be able to create a list of people who filled out the form on the CTA regardless of which page they saw the CTA on, but not if they filled out the form where it is hosted on a specific page. The fact that I can see these submissions on the CTA details page indicates that HubSpot does track this data. Is there any way to create a list like I'm talking about?

Thank you for reaching out to the community!

It sounds like you want to filter a list based on form submission source being a CTA click. At the moment the form filter doesn't have the option for CTA click however we do have the option to pair a form submission filter with a CTA filter. (See Screenshot)
@Jnix284 - I wanted to loop you in, incase you had any workarounds in mind 🙂

Thanks for the reply, @CatherineMonroe. I could be wrong, but I believe clicks on a CTA and form submissions on a CTA are two different things. For instance, right now my CTA has 39 submissions, but 0 clicks. So I think the method you outlined above would yield a list with 0 contacts.

@ACampbell81 this means that all of the users who clicked your CTA had cookie tracking disabled, thereby not tracking any of the clicks, while still capturing the form submission which would be a conversion. I wasn't expecting this, because the CTA should be able to identify a click without the cookie, but I'm fairly certain that's what is happening here after a quick test with and without cookies.

As @CatherineMonroe noted, you can use the filter criteria for the form submission, whether by "any page" or indicating specific pages or excluding pages.

Hey @ACampbell81 Jennifer is right on this, while a click can be tracked without a cookie, the click can't be attributed to a contact without a cookie.

So if a contact clicks your CTA without a known cookie (IE they have submit a form) you will still get a tracked click within your CTA analytics, but HubSpot can't know who that click was by, so you won't see the contact show up when filtering by CTA clicks in a list.

I appreciate the help @Jnix284 and @TomM2! My issue is not with the CTA clicks not tracking. All I'd like to be able to do is make a list of people who filled out the form on the CTA. It looks like HubSpot is collecting this exact data:

However, I can't find any solution for creating a list of these people.

Thanks for the reply, @TomM2. Unfortunately, no. That slide in uses a form that is used on the slide in as well as being hosted on several pages on our site. If I make a list with "has filled out form : newsletter slide-in banner" then I get people who filled out the form on those pages as well as on the slide-in. I'm trying to make a list of people who filled it out on the slide in only.

Hey @ACampbell81 honestly the best solution would be to create a unique form for your slide in only. It would be the most consistent way to report on this.

Hey @ACampbell81 Out of curiosity what is it you would like to be added? It sounds like you need "has submit a form in a specific area", is that right?
It's one of those things where the convenience of something makes the application of it less useful.

Injecting a pop-up on a targeted page, means the pop-up can't reliably report on the page it's on. I feel unfortunately the easy of use of adding a pop-up/slide in form on any page without having to change the markup of the page just leaves you in a place where you can't reliably report on the page your form is on.

@TomM2 - So I'm not looking to say they filled out the form on a specific page, just that they filled out that form on the slide-in, regardless of what page they saw the slide in on. When you look at the submissions tab on the CTA details page, it shows you everyone who filled out the form on the slide in, there is just now way to make a list out of those people. Which is frustrating as it seems like HubSpot must be collecting that information since they are able to populate the Submissions tab on the CTA details page.
