I think you could do this with a branch using the Create Date property as the filter. If the Create Date has been adjusted in the last 1 day, then they're a new contact and should receive the welcome email.

I think I am overthinking this!!! I have a form to capture leads on our a landing page. This form will subscribe them to our mailing lists and provide them with a free PDF download.

For each person who submits this form, I created a welcome workflow. In the workflow I will send them an email with the link to download the PDF. Then, if they are a NEW contact (have never subscribed before), I would like to send them a welcome email (being sent some time after the PDF email).

How does my workflow know if they are a new contact vs an existing contact (becuase someone who already is a subscriber could fill out this form to get the PDF)?

I don't want to send a welcome email if they are already subscribed. But I think if they just filled out the form, then they are subscribed and thus never receive a welcome email.

Again, i might be overthinking this. thanks for any help!

Hi @JScharpe,

The easiest way to do this is by using an if/then branch. In this branch, you would check whether the welcome email was sent to the contact (left branch). This first branch would be a dead end. The "None met" branch would be the one where you send the email.

Best regards!
