Hi,

As part of our paid advertisement activities we are trying to capture all of the deals that have been impacted via paid search ads.

For this we want any deal that has experienced ads activity at any stage in the pipeline up until the deal was "won" and the contact is converted into a customer.

There is currently two issues with our tracking. We are using "latest source paid" and "original source paid" this excludes anyone who may have interacred with paid advertisements mid-way through the sales funnel.

For example - Contact created via direct traffic (day 1) > contact re-engages via paid advertisement (day 2) > contact re-engages via email link (day 3).

Original source is direct while latest source is email. Therefore, excluding the impact paid had on this deal being converted.

Additionally, in using "latest source" as our current solution, we are finding that pre-existing customers who have already had a deal assigned to them are re-engaging with the ads and being accredited to paid ads as "won". If we continue to use latest source as a solution in our filter, there needs to be a way to exclude latest source after the customer has confirmed a deal, made payment, etc.

current filter below

Many thanks,

@LMould are you tracking ad activity using the HubSpot campaign tool? That, plus the contact-create attribution tool (or the Deal create attribution if you're on Enterprise) could help tell the story of how contacts interact with your ads and related campaigns. I don't know of an easier way to simplify the buyer's journey and show the exact interaction with an ad by a contact at the deal level.

HubSpot attribution reporting includes quite a few models for crediting interactions, so I'd think you could engineer reporting that reflects the journey well. You may find limitations if you're not at the Enterprise level unfortunately.
