How Can I Build Backlinks Like My Competitors Using HubSpot Tools?

Hello,

I’m currently exploring HubSpot to support backlink-building for my Subject website.

I’ve been analyzing my competitors and found they have backlinks from high-authority sites like:

search.aol.com/aol/search?query=...
publichealth.columbia.edu/research/...
And other similar sources

I used backlink analysis tools to identify these sources, but I’m unsure how they actually got listed or linked from these sites.

My questions are:

Does HubSpot offer any guidance or tools to help identify how competitors are listed on these types of domains?
Are there features in HubSpot that help in submitting or earning backlinks from similar websites?
Is there a process or best practice in HubSpot to follow for replicating competitor backlink profiles?

I’d really appreciate any insights, especially from others who’ve used HubSpot for competitive SEO and backlink strategy.

@nipe, I want to point out a word choice. You're asking how to "build" and the recommendation we're offering is for you to "earn" backlinks. By having great content and resources you can earn backlinks over time.

You can get some insight into what your competitors are doing by using Google Alerts (this is in the article that was linked). You can also get insight into your brand this way. This is my #1 way to find out what's going on. There are probably other tools that can help with this but whether they are legit or not, I'm not sure. Google Alerts is free to use and quite powerful in my opinion for this scenario.

Following up and asking for a backlink when someone mentions your content is just good sales. You have to advocate for your product and follow up with creators.

To clarify, HubSpot isn’t really built for backlink acquisition. It’s a powerful CRM and content tool, but when it comes to backlinks, it mostly helps with tracking traffic and managing outreach campaigns via email. It won’t show you how your competitors landed links on .edu or authority sites nor does it have a direct feature for that.

For real backlink analysis and competitive insights, tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Majestic are much better suited. They let you track backlinks, anchor texts, referring pages, and even replicate some of your competitors' strategies.
