Using lifecycle stages for calculated properties in HubSpot: How?

Hello, I've been exploring the calculated properties feature in HubSpot, and I was wondering if it's possible to use lifecycle stage values in the formulas. Specifically, I would like to create a calculated property called 'asphalt' that automatically categorizes contacts as either 'Customer' or 'Lead' based on their lifecycle stage. For example, if the contact's lifecycle stage is 'Customer,' I want the calculated property to display 'Customer,' and if the lifecycle stage is 'Lead,' I want it to display 'Lead.' Can you please guide me on how to implement this functionality? Thank you!

Hi @DClark27,

This sounds a bit redundant. If you have one property that show's a lifecycle stage as "Lead" and want another property to display "Lead", I'd recommend simply looking at the original property. Why create redundancy? 🙂

If you do need it to be a separate property, I'd rather recommend creating a contact-based workflows that uses the "Copy property value" to copy from the lifecycle stage property to your destination property. A calculation property would not be the best way to achieve this.
