Possible to use sales email sends in workflows?

I am creating a workflow that automates the lead statuses of my contacts. I want to set different lead statuses for MQLs that: are ready to be contacted by Sales ("open"), have been sent an email from the Sales team but have not replied ("attempted to contact"), and have replied to the Sales team ("working").

I believe he "working" lead status can be set by using the "Recent sales email replied date" contact property in a workflow (if "recent sales email replied date" is known, I set lead status to "working"), but is it possible for me to set the "attempted to contact" lead status since there's no "recent sales email sent date" property? There's a marketing email send date property, but nothing for sales emails.

Any help would be much appreciated, as this is the only part of my lead status automation that I can't get to work!

Hi @JackHoch,

This depends a bit on your definition of 'Attempted to contact'. For example, you could also set this status when there a contact is associated to an activity with the Activity type 'Call' and Call outcome is none of 'Connected'.

As a proxy for a missing 'Recent sales email sent date' you could use 'Last contacted': the last date and time a chat conversation, call, sales email, meeting, or message was logged for the contact.

If you do use it, make sure that Last contacted is known AND Recent sales email replied date is unknown AND contact is not a member of a list of contacts where are associated to an activity with type call and outcome connected.

Utilizing the Last Contacted property fixed my issue and helped me create the workflow I needed – thank you!

Hi. are you able to share a screenshot of the workflow? I´m looking to do a similar workflow based on sales email rather than marketing email
