Active List Contact Name: Neither First Name Nor Last Name

Hi HubSpot users,

I made a form including 'Name' property, neither 'First Name' nor 'Last Name'. All properties in the form are mandatory fields to submit.

I also made an active list using the form. However, when I clicked my list, NAME field just shows the same email address as EMAIL field.

Can someone help me how I can make NAME field in my list to show what people filled out as Name in my form?

Hi @SPark32,

The Name column in lists automatically concatenates first and last name from the default first and last name properties. If you have a custom Name property, you need to click Actions > Edit columns in the top right corner of your list editor. Then, find your custom Name property and add it.

@karstenkoehler has your solution. I have a question: What's the reason behind having a custom property for full name? When you send personalized marketing emails, do you use this full name instead of just first name? HubSpot can pull in first and last name easily so you can always use a full name, but keeping them separate gives you more power. I'm just curious.

I'm currently working in Korea and it's kind of a norm to write down full name as it's only 3 letters. I want to make customers to fill out one Name field instead of separate first and last name fields. That's why 🙂
