Is Contact Time Zone–Based Workflow Scheduling Deprecated? Option 2 (more specific):

Hi everyone.

I wanted to confirm whether this feature is now deprecated or still supported.

Previously, in HubSpot workflows, we were able to configure delays and scheduled actions based on the contact’s time zone (determined automatically via their IP address). This was available within:

“Delay until specific time”
“Delay until a date property”
“Send at specific time” options inside the Send email action

The setup process was:

Navigate to the desired workflow.
Add a delay action using the + icon.
Choose:
- Delay until a date property or Delay until specific time (for SMS or other actions), or
- Use scheduling options inside the Send email action.

Can someone confirm if this contact time zone–based scheduling (auto-detected via IP) is still available, or has it been deprecated/changed recently?

This feature hasn’t been deprecated, but the way it appears in the UI is a bit different I guess.

The contact time zone–based scheduling feature is still supported and available in HubSpot workflows. This functionality remains a standard part of the platform's automation tools for both delays and email actions.

Status of Specific Features

As of early 2026, you can still use the following time zone–based settings:

Delay until a calendar date: You can choose to base the selected time on the "Use contact time zone" option. If a contact has an "IP time zone" value, HubSpot will use that; otherwise, it defaults to your account’s time zone.
Delay until a date property: Similar to calendar dates, when setting a custom time for this delay to execute, you can select to use the contact’s time zone.
Send at a specific time (Email Action): Marketing emails can still be scheduled based on the recipient's time zone. This is available in the "Send or schedule" tab of the email editor, and sends are batched based on the "IP time zone" property.
Delay until a day of the week or time of day: This newer delay type also supports the "Use contact time zone" toggle.
