Automatically create a date property based on selection

Hello,

We created a few custom Company properties for our contracted customers: Contract Sign Date, Contract Start Date, and Contract Expiration Date. Our contracts are, 99% of the time, either 12-month or 24-month contracts. How do I automatically set the Expiration Date based on the date entered into the Contract Start Date property?

Hi @whistlerSign,

This can be achieved with a calculation property: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/create-calculation-properties

The output would be a date, the formula would add the time to the start date. For the different lengths, you would use an if-statement.

Thank you for the reply. After digging a little more I ended up on this thread: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/CRM/How-can-I-calculate-a-date-field-based-off-another-date-field/m-p/450667 which has a perfect app on the marketplace for what I need, with the hassle of doing any custom calculations. It's called "Workflow Date Calculator."

@whistlerSign definitely an optoin, but one that seems to require a workflow to run. Calculation properties are independent of workflows (and workflow outages) and don't require access of a third-party app to your portal – but yes, a valid option.

I don't mind the workflow to operate it. Thank you for your suggestion though.
